Our galvanized octagonal conduit box is an eight-sided steel junction box finished with a zinc coating. Its shape gives many conduit entry points around the body, so several conduits can meet at one point, and its round, flat back makes it a common choice for ceiling light outlets and fixture mounting. It is used with galvanized conduit in concealed and exposed routes in dry indoor locations.

Key Features
- Eight-sided body: gives conduit entries on several sides, so multiple runs can meet in one box
- Suited to ceiling fixtures: the round shape suits lamp holders, ceiling lights, and fixture plates
- Zinc-coated steel: the galvanized finish matches the conduit and protects the steel from rust in normal indoor conditions
- Knockouts for conduit entry: circular knockouts on the sides and back allow conduit to enter where required
- Fixing ears: mounting ears with threaded holes hold the cover or fixture plate firmly
- Strong and rigid: the steel body holds its shape during installation and when concreted into a slab
- Part of a full system: works with our galvanized conduit, couplings, and connectors

Good to Know
- Dry locations: an octagonal box with a plain cover is for dry indoor routes. It does not seal against water by itself, so use a gasketed, sealed box for outdoor or damp routes
- Match the conduit: check that the knockout size suits your conduit and connector size
- Open only the knockouts you need: unused knockouts should stay closed, and any opened ones should be fitted with a connector or plug
- Protect the cables: fit a connector or bushing at each entry so cable insulation is not cut by the edge
- Check the fixture weight: a box that carries a heavy fixture must be rated and fixed for that load, following your project specification
- Bonding: bond the box to the conduit and the earth conductor as your project specification requires
