This galvanized perforated cable tray is built from zinc-protected steel for supporting and routing power, control, and data cables in indoor and outdoor installations. The punched base keeps cables ventilated and easy to fix, while the zinc coating protects the steel from corrosion. Choose pre-galvanized finish for dry indoor use, or hot-dip galvanized finish for outdoor, humid, and industrial environments.
Why Galvanized Steel
- Corrosion protection: the zinc layer shields the steel from moisture and air, extending service life compared with uncoated steel
- Cost-effective: galvanized carbon steel gives dependable corrosion resistance at a lower cost than stainless steel
- Low maintenance: no repainting is needed during normal service life
- Strong and rigid: steel thickness from 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm carries the cable load across the support span
Pre-Galvanized or Hot-Dip Galvanized?
| Pre-Galvanized | Hot-Dip Galvanized | |
|---|---|---|
| How it is made | Zinc is applied to the steel sheet before the tray is cut, punched, and formed | The finished tray is dipped in molten zinc after fabrication |
| Coverage | Cut edges and punched hole edges are not coated | All surfaces are coated, including edges and perforations |
| Coating thickness | Thinner | Thicker |
| Best for | Indoor, dry locations such as offices, electrical rooms, and data centers | Outdoor, humid, and industrial environments |
| Cost | Lower | Higher |
Zinc coating thickness can be specified to project requirements, for example to ISO 1461 for hot-dip galvanizing.
