Our galvanized long-span ladder cable tray, also called cable ladder, is built for heavy cables carried over wide support spacing. It has two strong side rails joined by evenly spaced rungs, and the rails are sized to carry the load across long spans, so fewer supports are needed along the route. The open design gives the best airflow around the cables and lets dust and water pass through, and the zinc coating protects the steel from corrosion. It is widely used in industrial plants, power stations, substations, and large cable routes.

Key Features
- Long support spans: strong side rails carry heavy cable loads across wider support spacing, which reduces the number of supports and the installation work
- Heavy-duty load capacity: built for large power cables and high cable counts, with safe working load of [confirm, with the support span it applies to]
- Best airflow: the open rung design lets heat escape and keeps dust and water from collecting
- Zinc corrosion protection: the galvanized finish protects the steel, with no repainting needed during normal service life
- Easy cable access: cables can be laid in, tied to the rungs, and added later from the top or the sides
- Complete system: matching bends, tees, reducers, splice plates, covers, and brackets can be supplied in the same finish

Where to Use It
- Industrial plants, factories, and refineries
- Power stations, substations, and utility facilities
- Tunnels, metro, and infrastructure projects
- Outdoor and rooftop routes carrying heavy power cables
- Large buildings with long straight cable runs
Long-Span Ladder or Perforated Tray?
| Long-Span Ladder Tray | Perforated Tray | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Heavy power cables, long spans | Mixed power, control, and data cables |
| Support spacing | Wider | Shorter |
| Airflow | Best | Good |
| Small cables | Not supported between rungs | Supported on the base |
| Cost per meter | Usually higher, with fewer supports needed | Usually lower |
Pre-Galvanized or Hot-Dip Galvanized?
Choose hot-dip galvanized for outdoor, humid, and industrial routes, where the zinc must protect every edge and last for years. For dry indoor routes, pre-galvanized is a lower-cost option. Heavy-duty ladder tray is often used outdoors and in plants, so hot-dip galvanized is the common choice there.
Good to Know
- Check load against span: the safe working load depends on the support spacing, so confirm it at the span you plan to use
- Small cables: small cables are not supported between the rungs, so consider a perforated or solid bottom tray, or use cable supports, for them
- Support design: longer spans put more load on each support and fixing, so design the supports for the full load
- Cut edges: treat field-cut ends with a suitable zinc-rich touch-up product, following the manufacturer's instructions
