Our galvanized drawn conduit box is a junction box formed from a single piece of zinc-coated steel by deep drawing, so the sides and corners have no welded or folded seams. It gives a clean, strong enclosure for joining, branching, or ending electrical conduit, and for mounting switches, sockets, and cover plates. It is used with galvanized conduit in concealed and exposed routes in dry indoor locations.

Key Features
- One-piece drawn body: formed from a single sheet, with no welded or folded corner seams to open up
- Strong and rigid: the drawn shape holds its form during installation and when concreted into a wall
- Zinc-coated steel: the galvanized finish matches the conduit and protects the steel from rust in normal indoor conditions
- Knockouts for conduit entry: circular knockouts allow conduit to enter on the sides and back, where required
- Fixing ears: mounting ears with threaded holes hold the cover plate or device firmly
- Smooth inside: clean walls and corners help cables pull in and sit neatly
- Part of a full system: works with our galvanized conduit, couplings, and connectors

Where to Use It

- Exposed surface-mounted wiring in offices, shops, and commercial buildings
- Factories, workshops, and equipment rooms with dry conditions
Drawn Box or Welded Box?
| Drawn box | Welded or folded box | |
|---|---|---|
| Construction | One piece, formed by deep drawing | Folded sheet with welded or joined corners |
| Corners | Seamless | Seams that can open or leave bare steel |
| Concrete casting | Better at keeping out concrete slurry | Seams may need sealing |
| Typical size | Small to medium, limited by the drawing depth | Small to large |
| Typical use | Switch, socket, and small junction boxes | Larger junction and pull boxes |
Good to Know
- Dry locations: a drawn box with a plain cover is for dry indoor routes. It does not seal against water by itself, so use a gasketed, sealed box for outdoor or damp routes
- Match the conduit: check that the knockout size suits your conduit and connector size
- Open only the knockouts you need: unused knockouts should stay closed, and any opened ones should be fitted with a connector or plug
- Protect the cables: fit a connector or bushing at each entry so cable insulation is not cut by the edge
- Bonding: bond the box to the conduit and the earth conductor as your project specification requires
- Count the fill: check that the box volume suits the number and size of cables and devices inside it
