Our braided bonding jumper is a flexible earth strap made from woven copper strands, with a ring terminal crimped on each end. It links cable tray sections, expansion joints, covers, and other metal parts so that electrical continuity is kept across the joint, and it moves with the tray as it expands and contracts. It is available in bare copper and in tinned copper, in lengths and cross-sections made to your needs.

Key Features
- Flexible braided copper: bends easily around joints and allows for movement, vibration, and thermal expansion
- Ring terminals on both ends: bolt straight onto the tray, a stud, or an earthing bar [confirm hole size]
- Bare or tinned copper: bare copper for general use, tinned copper for better corrosion resistance in damp or aggressive air
- Cross-section and length to order: made to the bonding requirement of your project [confirm range]
- Fast to fit: no cutting or crimping on site
- Customizable: terminal size, hole diameter, length, and cross-section made to your request

Where to Use It
- Across cable tray joints and splice plates, where continuity must be guaranteed
- Across expansion joints, where the tray moves
- Between tray and cover, tray and bracket, or tray and earthing bar
- Equipment doors, panels, and moving metal parts
- Outdoor and rooftop tray runs, as part of the bonding system
Bare Copper or Tinned Copper?
| Type | Best for | Points to note |
|---|---|---|
| Bare copper | Indoor, dry routes | Lowest cost. Surface darkens with time |
| Tinned copper | Outdoor, humid, coastal, and industrial air | Tin coating resists corrosion and is better suited to contact with galvanized or aluminum parts |
Good to Know
- Contact must be on bare metal: paint and powder coating insulate, so remove the coating under the lug, or use star washers or similar hardware that bites through it
- Size by the requirement: choose the cross-section by your project's bonding specification, not by looks
- Mind dissimilar metals: copper next to aluminum can corrode. Use tinned copper or a suitable joint compound and hardware, as your specification requires
- Keep it short: use the shortest length that still allows for movement, with a gentle bend and no strain on the lugs
- Check at maintenance: look for loose bolts, corrosion, and broken strands during inspections
