Our aluminum perforated cable tray is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant cable support system for projects where weight, handling, and long-term durability matter. Aluminum forms a natural protective oxide layer, so the tray resists rust without needing a zinc or paint coating. It is much lighter than steel tray, which makes it quicker to lift, carry, and install, especially at height, on rooftops, and in long runs. The perforated base keeps cables ventilated and easy to fix.
Key Features
- Lightweight: much lighter than steel tray, which cuts handling effort, transport weight, and load on the supporting structure
- Corrosion resistant: a natural oxide layer protects the surface, with no coating to chip or wear off
- Non-magnetic: suited to installations where magnetic materials should be avoided
- Easy to install and modify: light sections are quick to position, and the material is easy to cut and drill on site
- Ventilated, easy-access base: perforations let heat escape and let cable ties be fixed anywhere along the run
- Complete system: matching bends, tees, reducers, covers, splice plates, and brackets can be supplied

Material: aluminum alloy, [confirm alloy and temper]. Standard length: [confirm, e.g. 2000 mm or 3000 mm]. Surface: [confirm, e.g. mill finish, anodized, or powder coated]. Safe working load: [confirm, with the support span it applies to]. Custom widths, heights, thicknesses, lengths, and hole patterns are available on request.
Where to Use It
- Coastal and humid locations where steel would corrode
- Rooftops and elevated routes where weight matters
- Data centers, telecom rooms, and commercial buildings
- Tunnels, metro, and infrastructure projects
- Water treatment, food, and light chemical environments
Aluminum or Steel Tray?
| Aluminum | Galvanized steel | |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Much lighter | Heavier |
| Corrosion resistance | Good without a coating | Depends on the zinc layer |
| Strength and stiffness | Lower, so spans may be shorter or sections thicker | Higher |
| Thermal movement | Expands more with temperature | Expands less |
| Cost | Usually higher | Usually lower |
Good to Know
- Match the hardware: use aluminum or stainless steel fasteners and brackets. Plain carbon steel hardware in contact with aluminum can cause corrosion at the joint
- Allow for expansion: aluminum moves more than steel when temperature changes, so long or outdoor runs need expansion joints
- Check the span and load: aluminum is less stiff than steel, so confirm the safe working load at your support spacing
- Fire requirements: aluminum softens at a lower temperature than steel, so check the project's fire requirements before choosing it for a fire-rated route
- Chemical exposure: aluminum resists many environments but not strong acids or alkalis, so tell us if the site has them
