Our aluminum ladder cable tray, also called aluminum cable ladder, has two side rails joined by evenly spaced rungs, made from lightweight, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. Aluminum forms a natural protective oxide layer, so the ladder resists rust without a zinc or paint coating, and it is much lighter than steel ladder, which makes long sections easier to lift, carry, and install, especially at height. The open ladder design gives excellent airflow around the cables and lets dust and water pass through.

Key Features
- Lightweight: much lighter than steel ladder, which cuts handling effort, transport weight, and load on the supporting structure
- Corrosion resistant: a natural oxide layer protects the surface, with no coating to chip or wear off
- Non-magnetic: suited to installations where magnetic materials should be avoided
- Excellent airflow and drainage: the open rung design lets heat escape and keeps water and dust from collecting
- Easy to cut and modify: the material is easy to cut and drill on site
- Complete system: matching bends, tees, reducers, splice plates, covers, and brackets can be supplied
Specifications

Material: aluminum alloy, [confirm alloy and temper]. Standard length: [confirm, e.g. 3000 mm or 6000 mm]. Surface: [confirm, e.g. mill finish, anodized, or powder coated]. Safe working load: [confirm, per size and span]. Custom widths, heights, thicknesses, rung spacing, and lengths are available on request.
Where to Use It
- Coastal and humid locations where steel would corrode
- Rooftops and elevated routes where weight matters
- Data centers, telecom facilities, and commercial buildings
- Tunnels, metro, and infrastructure projects
- Water treatment and light chemical environments
Aluminum or Steel Ladder Tray?
| Aluminum | Galvanized steel | |
|---|---|---|
| Weight | Much lighter | Heavier |
| Corrosion resistance | Good without a coating | Depends on the zinc layer |
| Strength and stiffness | Lower, so spans may be shorter or sections thicker | Higher |
| Thermal movement | Expands more with temperature | Expands less |
| Cost | Usually higher | Usually lower |
Good to Know
- Check load against span: aluminum is less stiff than steel, so confirm the safe working load at your support spacing, and expect shorter spans than steel ladder for the same load
- Match the hardware: use aluminum or stainless steel fasteners and brackets. Plain carbon steel hardware in contact with aluminum can cause corrosion at the joint
- Allow for expansion: aluminum moves more than steel when temperature changes, so long or outdoor runs need expansion joints
- Small cables: small cables are not supported between the rungs, so consider a perforated or solid bottom tray, or use cable supports, for them
- Fire requirements: aluminum softens at a lower temperature than steel, so check the project's fire requirements before choosing it for a fire-rated route
Why Choose Wanan
